I have my own well and would like to convert but there is not much info in this part of the USA. I talked with Energy and Water Solutions about a cng compressor and was wondering if anyone had delt with them before.

Re: gas well
Hello 3006....I am old school, so laugh if you like. I would perform the "poor mans gas test". Take a pan of cold water, put it on a burner of your stove and turn the gas on high. Wait one minute and lift the pan, then two minutes and lift the pan, then three. If at any time you see water on the dispersion plate, you have miles to go and work to do. In short, you need to address water vapor in your well gas. If you see no water on the dispersion plate, you are 90% there. Setup your compressor with a coalescing Filter on the inlet side and pump your first tank of gas. At about an hour into the fueling stop the compressor and remove the fueling nozzle. Tap it hard into the palm of your hand. If water droplets fall into your palm, you have work to do. AsForMe...I have been there.

Re: gas well
I do plan to get my gas tested before I move forward just curious as to what all was involved. As far as water goes I have 1 drip tank before it runs into my high pressure reducer that I drain once every couple of months with not even a hand full of water. I believe the reason for this is that my gas line runs about 1 mile from the well head to my house and crossses three hollows along the way. I also have drips in each hollow so I think the water is gone by the time it reaches my house. Also this may be a stupid question but dont they make filters that would fiter out about anything you didnt want in your compresser. That said it would probably be costly.

Re: gas well
3006,
I'm old, but not sure we went to the same school. That test for moisture in the gas sounds interesting. Does it really work?
Here's a gas spec sheet that one of the home refueling 'appliance' mfgs. suggests that may help.
B/R,
