New GX. How long to get carpool stickers?

I just bought my 08 Honda GX (after spying Curt's Corner for two months). I asked the dealer to expedite the plates. I got them in a week. I mailed in the California DMV form 1000 the morning (snail mail). How long might I expect to wait for the stickers to come from Sacramento?
BTW - it's great reading all about the GX from posters. Please keep contributing. I'll write about my adventures as the arise.

I got my GX three weeks ago. I am so glad the dealership gave me the license plate 5 days later. I sent out the DMV form with check same day I got my plate. I call DMV last Friday, they said they still working on July's application. I think I still have to be patience for my lovely carpool sticker to save commute time!

I bought my '07 in Oct. of '07. It took 4 weeks for me to get my stickers. Despite the fact that twice the DMV told me they weren't available prior to sending my application in. I was able to convince the third person I spoke to at the DMV that the white stickers were and are available. Then she said they were working on applications they received eight weeks prior to me sending mine in. (Gee, I thought they weren't available?)

Carpool sticker update.
I'm not happy.
I've gained so much information from you guys about my GX, I first want to thank you all.
Due to the nightmare experiences some of you have written about - I made it my mission to check for roadblocks and bottlenecks.
After a lot of research on my part (because my dealership sales person wouldn't do it) I found that the car was registered improperly. The DMV tells me that it is coded as "GASOLINE"!
Yesterday, the dealership sales rep told me that they could only solve the problem by taking back my plates and getting new ones issued. Which means my first application for stickers will be denied and the process has been lengthen by another week (and I will need to pay another $8 when I reapply).
I'll keep you posted with further updates.

I asked my dealership 3 times when I purchase my GX about the fuel type section to make sure they fill out correctly. DMV just cashed my check today. I wish my sticker is on its way!

It is clear that the dealership "Incorrectly" completed the "Report of sale of Motor Vehicle" when they submitted it to the DMV, I'm waiting for a response from my contact at DMV as to the easiest way to have the title corrected. I'm not sure that changing plates is necessary, but I know a TITLE correction is. Maybe a plate number change is necessary.
Which dealer did you buy your car from? Did you have to pay above retail?
"A Titling error seems to have been made by the dealer which DIRECTLY affects the utility of the vehicle which you purchased, and It seems that the dealer is refusing or unaware on how to correct their error in a timely manner. A timely manner would be no longer than 24-48 hours." This IS that important.

The dealer's rep (I'd contact the owner) needs to understand this.

I did pay over MSRP. $1100! You'd think I'd get the best of their service. Right?

If the "mp" on the title is not "N" , it is indeed incorrect.

If the dealer or his agent made the error , at minimum you should demand the over sticker prem. and the fee charged by the dealer to process your title. If it was me, every day delay would be costing the dealer reimbursement for one hour of my time.

Time IS Money .

If Sacramento made the mistake on the title (not likely) , you will get expedited service only.

Finally DMV cashed my check last Wednesday. I check my mailbox everyday for my HOV sticker. How long should I expect those sticker arrive after they cash my check?

I don't see this dealership as being concerned about how they're perceived by the public. When you come in the showroom the seating is bar stools around tables, setting upon carpeting that is tattered and frayed around the edges.
I could see at first glance; this dealership was -- let's say "frugal".

Another Update.

I've had my 2008 Civic GX for 6 weeks now. And, I still don't have the California license plates (second set) from the dealership. I feel that these people are amatuers; untrained and unwilling to please the customers. This was my first Honda experience; I'm not impressed.

Received a letter from California DMV stating that their records show that my new Honda GX is a regular gas vehicle. Called the Honda dealer and verified that all of the paper work was correct. Went to the DMV and they verified that all of the paper work was correct. DMV gave me a verification sheet stating that the vehicle had been inspected and was in fact a natural gas vehicle. Sent all of the paper work to Sacremento. Today I received a letter stating that their records show that the vehicle is not a natural gas vehicle and I need to get a DMV verification done by the DMV. I guess I will try it one more time.
