Re: cng mechanic/enthusiast
i bought a cng truck, 97 expedition with two tanks from a nyc auction and cant get it to work. I checked the 1/4 turn off, I opened and closed tanks, I tried filling it up but it wouldnt accept any fuel. It has a gauge inside that lights up and appears to have cng in tanks. I was thinking they might have pulled a fuse or something when I bought it for safety reasons, but I cant figure out where it would be. The fuse under dashboard is working.. Any suggestions would be great, thanks

I own gas fields in upstate NY and am considering developing an onsite vehicle compressor pumping station. I imagine I would be about the first to tap directly from well to compressors up here if I do this. Can you tell me what is bottom line on the safety aspect of gas cylinders within vehicles.

Sounds good, however, not being an pipeline person, I believe that there is some filtering that has to be done before the gas can be put into the compressor and vehicle -- the sweeting process. Also this gas would not have the odorant. mercaptian, so it would be unodorized CNG. There is a diamond that says "unodorized CNG" that some of the transit agencies use when they fuel with L/CNG (compressed natural gas from LNG). It might be nice to warn the emergency responders that they can't smell the CNG.
