Three 24' CNG storage tubes on eBay $43K Dallas TX (classified listing - no auction end date). It's worth looking at this auction to see storage specification chart for the tubes - pressure, volume, gal equivalent as well as conversion factors. At 4500 psi a 24' tube holds 76gge:

Yes, the days of "build it and they will come" are, unfortunately over now that the automakers are no longer offering CNG vehicles to the general public. You have got to work with one or more fleets, overlay the routes to find common points where a station makes sense, and get fuel contracts in hand. The good news, however, is that heavy-duty uptake of CNG continues to be strong.

Looks like this thread started as a potential business opportunity/inquiry and morphed into where all the deals are on used CNG filling station equipment. Also, looks like the original poster has not been engaged well enough. My input is to start by analyzing the business case for the area. What is the demand and how are other stations in the area doing? This business, like any other, needs to have a demand for the product that can be delivered for a profit. I would start with a survey of the individual and fleet CNG vehicle operators in the area. The size of the station is usually selected based on the demand but a great deal on used equipment would allow for over sizing if space is available. A better scenario is partnering up with a fleet operator in the area if possible maybe at a lower fuel cost to get going. This would also help with demand. This is like any other business except that CA may have some tax breaks for alternate fuel. Also keep in mind that one cannot just plop down a system on a concrete pad and start selling CNG (especially in CA). There are start-up costs associated with permitting, transporting the equipment, installation (or reinstallation), rebuild, and infrastructure. Just saying - nice to pontificate but serious businesses require careful consideration.
My brother asked me to look at the possibility of going CNG for his fleet of 12 plumbing vans last year. I could not justify the cost with gasoline at the price it has been recently and we were definitely considering some of these great deals out there for used equipment.
Good luck out there.
