  • Hello from St. Helens, Oregon

Well we have had our 2008 Honda Civic GX for more than two months and the FMQ2-36 fuel station now has been installed and running for a month. A year ago we decided that we had to replace a car and wanted to improve MPG, Cost, and Environment. The funny thing was we got the car delivered the week before gas started going up over $3.70/gal. At first I was called crazy and now I am getting stopped and asked about the car. I am one of the engineers for the local government and they are now installing a fueling station and converting 4 high use fleet vehicles. I thought I would join and talk to like minded people.
I have found and using a product called motorsilk that the government has the patent on through NASA and it suppose to reduce engine friction by 80% and increase performance and MPG up to 20%. I will report back if I am getting better than 36.5 mpg, jury is still out. If you are interested here is the link. http://www.greenls.com

    Cheers,
    Justin

Good for you. Good luck trying to calculate your mileage. I've given up.

Thanks, as for the MPG well I have found two ways of figuring it. One being using a public fast fill station a few times and it give you the equivalent Gallons but you have to write down your mileage at each fill. Two 3600psi for me is 8 gallons equivalent so having a pressure gauge you can figure 8/3600 = X/gauge reading this will give you gallons equivalent and then with know mileage you can figure mpg.

      Cheers,

I decided the best calculation is to track my fuel cost per mile. 6.8 cents is my current cost but it is rising as the fuel cost has increased at the commercial stations. Wish I could afford an FMQ 2-36. Alan

You are right about being able to afford the fueling station....WOW was that a big ticket item....I probably could not afford it either but my justification was an investment. Once I ordered the unit it actually went up in price by almost a grand....
