  • Greetings from San Antonio.

Hello: my name is Adrian. I love my SUV, a 2002 GMC Envoy with a 4.2 I-6 engine, plenty of power and torque, 4WD, etc. But I hate the way it sucks gas; 18 mpg around town, 20 mpg with no A/C-windows down, and constant use of cruise control to maintain speed limits. Coming back from a long trip, we had it give us 24 mpg Hwy. I would love to talk about other options I have to save gas, and if anyone knows of a conversion kit that would fit my engine layout. So far I've found one for the 5.3L V-8, but none for the 4.2L

In the meantime, I've been enjoying the hot SA weather and saving lots of gas by riding my motorcycle, which gives me between 45 and 50 mpg.

Feels good to be participating in this forum.

Hi Adrian and welcome to CNGchat!
Are there any public CNG stations in your area? I think the closest one is in Austin...
Locations and prices for CNG stations (compressed natural gas and natural gas vehicles (NGV)) for the US, Canada, and much of Europe.
