    Re: Honda 2008 cg 4cyl Range????? 65mph

When I first bought my 08 GX and I was driving 65 mph ( breakin period ), I did get 300 miles to the tank. And that with me fast filling at public pumps, I don't do much 65 mph driving anymore so I now average about 220 - 250 mile s to the tank with fast fills...

I'm not sure how or if the fast fill stations compensate for it, but I can tell you that you'll get different ranges based upon the outside temperature when if you fill with a slow fill (FMQ-2) VRA. In the Phoenix area with an '00 GX (does not get nearly as good of mileage as your new one) we can drive comfortably 210 miles in the winter, but it's scary to try to do much more than 180 miles during the summer. We'd do a bit better going just 65mph, but traffic usually moves along at closer to 75 mph. Enjoy your new car!

I think using a good fast fill at a public station, you can't do more than 250 miles on a tank.
Thanks for the great info. Yes our data confirms what you are saying. We have a 3600psi fill station near our home so thats what we would use. I believe we only would need to go about 210 miles round trip. So I think we would have no problems. Thanks again for your great help.

Assuming you started with a tank fast-filled, it would be VERY hard to go 300 miles. Maybe at 45-50 mph.

Not practical nor likely in the real world, and next to impossible, IMO
Yes our data tells us about 247 is a confortable push. As long as we arent pushing the car at excessive speeds. Thanks for your help....

At highway driving you should have no problem doing at least 230 Miles, if filled when starting out. Be sure the car's gauge reads at least to the 3000 psi full mark.

I think you would be pushing it to do 300 miles at 3600 psi fill, and would end up in the orange light low fuel zone for quite a distance, if it would even go that far. Maybe someone else has real time experience on this one to report.

Hey, when parked keep it locked up, have a guard dog nearby, and keep a light on it at night!
Thanks yes ours is a GX and yes our data tells us that we should be able to due 247 pushing it at 30 mpgs. So our 200 mile round trip should be fine. thanks for your time and great compliments.....

Are you in Vegas or Reno? Assuming Vegas, my suggestion if you want the max range is to first go fill at any of the 3000 psi stations (Henderson, Washington & A St. etc.) then head up to the 3600 psi station at Ronemus Drive. This allows for the tank to cool down on the way to Ronemus, where you will be able to put in another 2 gge or so before heading out on your trip. I do it all the time when I head up and down I-15 to California from Utah. 200 mile r/t should be no problem for you at all.

    Details in the Nevada forum...
Thank you for your reply. Yes Las Vegas it is and we just took a trip to Searchlight and back. Filled up at Sunset and 95 which is a 3000psi fill location. Got over 30mpg so we figured range on a 3600 psi fill station to be 240 miles considering we have an 8 gal tank. Thanks so much for your help.

    Honda 2008 cg 4cyl Range????? 65mph

We just bought our first CG Honda. Its a 2008 4 cylinder. Its the basic model. Anyway the dealership says that we can get close to 300 miles on a tank. Is this right? Or is this just Dealership talk? We want to drive approx 100miles and return home without refueling at 65mph. Any concerns we should have about fuel? Thanks for all your help in advance.
