  • New to CNG on 4/17/18

Hi, bought a 1998 Cavalier and I am trying to learn all I can. This site has helped already. I am a aircraft mechanic and I work on Turbine engines. I generally like to to all my own work on my vehicles that way I know is is done right. Ian

Welcome to the group! This may not be the type of thing you want to do at home. The cng high pressure fuel systems can be inherently dangerous if you don't know what you are doing. Any attempt to open them up can be catastrophic if done wrong... much like working on a jet engine I suppose. Spend a lot of time in the GM forum and watch for a shop manual on EBay. Short of being armed with correct knowledge, take it to a pro. Otherwise, you might as well bring a turbofan by the house this weekend... we'll knock back a few brews and I'll take a whack at it...

Please do not entice us w/ the idea of a jet powered Honda Civic GX 2010.

        ... Bonneville Salt Flats, anyone?
