  • Spot 100 NGVs?

To segue from "Spot an NGV here" thread...
    http://www.cngchat.com/forum/showthr...?t=1960&page=5
Let's see what interest is out there. I was thinking maybe plan for a caravan around Memorial Day, 31 May 2010. That is, if we can get on the CA Air Resources Board (CARB) agenda, the Thursday or Friday before that weekend. Calendars are under "Events" tab at
    http://www.arb.ca.gov/homepage.htm

That'd give options to folks wanting to make a vacation out of it (e.g., visit Sacramento Old Town, head off to San Francisco / Napa / Yosemite, delta fishing, etc.).

How do we set up a poll for this?
Meanwhile, we can work on getting on the agenda and the message(s) to be delivered.

    Cheers,
    Evelyn

Great Idea, but look at how many NGVrs were at the cruise in. Maybe a non-holiday weekend would be better, and maybe keep it local. Thanks for the Chinese food... it hit the spot!

It is a long way off, but I should be able to bring 2, and possibly 3 cars. My partner is in regular contact with a lobbyist up there and I figure somebody on the site knows a member of the government in Sac.

Maybe a few NGVr gatherings for local communities prior to a Sacramento trip would be something to think about (for planning, socializing, gauging interest)? If so, maybe separate threads for local group planning, each with a local coordinator?

For a 100+ NGV event, caravans from different parts of the state/country could converge at some agreed upon location prior to whatever agenda gets put in place. Do we also want to meet with other agencies besides CARB (e.g. folks who can influence legislation/funding pertinent to NGVs)? Is so, any ideas who?

Note the CARB meetings usually meets once a month -- typically on the second Thursday or Friday of the month and in other locations. See
          http://www.arb.ca.gov/board/2009mtgdates.pdf
          http://www.arb.ca.gov/board/2010mtgdates.pdf
We'd have to work with a CARB rep to get on the agenda, but we first we need to have a strategy on what we want to accomplish.

How about a local gathering later this or next month? Is there a local community bulletin board or something elsewhere on this site to set this up? Sorry, I'm web-tech limited.

Better idea from the Long Beach NGVrs
            (see http://www.cngchat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5464)

            Forget Sacramento; let's hit Vegas.

This way the Utah folks can get involved as well.

Can someone put the "Alternative Fuels and Vehicles Expo"
May 9-12, 2010| Rio All-Suites Hotel | Las Vegas, NV
on the calendar (if it's not already there)?

I can't see that far ahead 'cuz I apparently don't have the privileges. I get an error message trying to get to May 2010:
"Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing." (My hubby will say that's not all I'm missing...)

Also, add our 100 NGV caravan to Vegas on the day before (Sat, 8 May, 2010)?

It would be great to get some NGVs together in Vegas!
I went in 2008 with Curtis, and we are planning to go again next year, this time in my car! They had a bunch of EVs that people could drive in the parking lot, maybe we could get a spot for our cars to show off.
