Pulled over in the Carpool lane

Hey all,

I got pulled over on the 10 fwy in Alhambra in the carpool lane. I was driving my old 96 Ford Crown Vic CNG with carpool stickers on it. I was unable to provide the documentation that goes with the stickers, so I was given the ultimate run through. The cop looked under the hood, checked the gas cap (dust cap) and told me next time he'd give me a ticket for not having that paper that comes with the stickers. Now, i never drive without it. Of course when I bought the car, used, the paper was not there. Anyone else been pulled over?

CHP or what department? Car or Motorcycle? I don't travel that freeway to often, in fact I go out of my way to stay away from it. But its good to know whats going on. BTW did you know that more tickets are issued on the 10fwy than any other freeway in the world?

Either way, the ticket can be dismissed once you show proof in court.

I picked up my stickers at the LA Hope Street DMV and the only thing I got other than the stickers was a receipt.

Maybe I've missed it but I've never seen anything official that states you need some piece of paperwork kept in the car that came with the sticker. Would someone please tell me where this is stated.

I picked up my stickers at the LA Hope Street DMV and the only thing I got other than the stickers was a receipt.

Maybe I've missed it but I've never seen anything official that states you need some piece of paperwork kept in the car that came with the sticker. Would someone please tell me where this is stated.

I received my stickers through the mail. The "sticker registration" was in the envelope. I think it's stated on this "sticker registration" that it must be kept in the car at all times. It's a piece of thicker paper than the regular registration.

I did not know it was possible to pick up stickers in person at the LA hope Street DMV. How did you pull that off?

I got mine back in 2004 when you could but you can't anymore which is really too bad.

Either I lost mine, not likely since I still have the paper you peel off the stickers before you put them on, or never got it when I picked up the stickers.

I have the paperwork. It came along with my stickers. Your supposed to have it when you get pulled over, its linked to the registration. It has the VIN and vehicle info on it. Call DMV and ask them, they should have the document and maybe they can send you a copy or a new replacements.

You can get it free of charge by filling out the same app as you did to get the stickers, just check the box for replacement registration card. I got mine. I never drive without it.
