I recently took a CNG station maintenance class and I passed with 100% and did not miss one answer on the test. Well I was so excited I rushed over to visit my nearest CNG station to see what problems I could find if any.
While I was not able to access the compressor area I did inspect the dispensers. I was shocked to find oil leaking from the hoses on the pump. This means the compressor is leaking oil into the storage tanks, and its coming straight to the dispensers and going straight into the vehicles CNG tank and system. This will make your car run link [email protected]#$% if it runs at all.
I have not pumped there since they last raised there price on 7/2 and after seeing this I will never pump there again until its fixed. Its good to have a bifuel and be able to go on to the next station. San Fernando station is New, and clean so no one will have issues there. In fact I met the guys who run the San Fernando station in my class and they told me they drain thier filters every day and inspect the stations pumps, filters and so on every day.
This is just a FYI if you want your CNG car to run good and have no problems. I will be contacting the city of Burbank next week to see how good their CNG vehicles are running and let them know what I have found.
