I would figure that if EPA was really looking, they would go to a local Universal Technical Institute and discover that half of the cars have missing catalyst converters and no mufflers. They also use rigged kits so they do not set DTC P0420 - that is real tampering. "Cold Air Intakes" and misplaced MAF's lean out air/fuel mixtures and cause high NOx. Turbo over boosting also causes high NOx.
The emissions tampering that today's "tuners" do makes my hair rise! It is downright disgusting! They make a MyCngkit.com look like an Angel from Heaven.
I am thinking that if EPA really wanted to collect some fines, they do not have to go very far. Rancho Cucumonga, CA is a good start. Just bring a creeper!

Re: Mycngkit.com
I am wondering, what ever did happen to that site? Was that person just taking money and running? Also, why would anyone take a risk of not getting the product they paid for when mostly needed components can be obtained from a local distributor? Parts are of good quality too and it costs a few hundred bucks more but are very worth it!
I think there are too many sites that make promises but do not deliver. I guess if it is too cheap to be real, it probably is. I have seen somewhat workable kits from Europe, they cost about the same. If you add shipping and tariffs, they cost more. Why bother?

Re: Mycngkit.com
CNGMOTORS et al,
Lot of good comments. I've just returned from the International NGV conference as saw a lot of these 'kits' from SA. They DO meet the ISO 15500 for aftermarket conversions, but...
I'd be concerned about some of the safety issues I saw. If they include a cylinder valve, be careful! The PRD is sized for smaller cylinders and vehicles and I don't think it would protect a cylinder bigger than 4-5 gge.
Not sure about the safety factors of the downstream components, but the US standard, NFPA-52 has just reduced the req. from 4X the working pressure to 3X.
The other comments about emissions/tampering are right on. Most of the stuff from Argentina have electronic 'fixes' for O2 sensors, etc. and these went out several years ago. They are clearly tampering, in that they send a false signal to the on-board computer to avoid MIL's.
So, caveat emptor...

Re: Mycngkit.com
Not joking about the recall, but I am getting the information 2nd hand. There will always be scum bags that defraud people it happens everyday and they are all over EBAY and Craigslist. They recently were in the mortgage industry because the industry was hot, now that it's not and the energy industry is, they have moved into this sector.sigpichttp://WWW.CNGMOTORS.COM

I know exactly what you mean about scum bags in the mortgage industry. It is costing us all money in personal real estate values. Hard working, honest people were the ones who made this country great. Scum bags are bringing it down without any understanding that at the end they too will suffer from weak economy.
As far as any kind of recall for MyCNGkit.com, it is highly unlikely. Thousands if not millions thieves get away with horrible crimes every day. Identity theft (in every form of it) is so huge, our legal system has been over it's capacity to even begin dealing with it. E-bay and Craig's list are so full of scam artists, it's freaking disgusting. Very few, if any of those thieves get prosecuted or even fined. They commit horrible crimes that harm other people.
For as over extended as our legal system is, I really think that no one even blinks an eye at a scam artist deal like MyCNGkit.com, let alone take a legal action against it. Like I stated earlier, there are bigger violators than that that never get in trouble. It's a shame but that's the sad reality.

Majority of Americans drive a gasoline car because it is all that is available to them. Laws and fuel prices change so much, many manufacturers do not want to take risks as they are encountering our legal system at a higher level.
At the same time, if you read between the lines, laws are very vague. This opens up other doors that otherwise would be closed. Some states give you certain perks that could work very well - legally.

As far as the kit goes, it is very complete and excellent quality. The tank I received was American made fiber wound tank with valve already installed as well as PRD. I haven't installed it. I saw a youtube video of a guy who put one on a benz. (search youtube for the kit website name that always gets blocked out on the forum) Looks like it works perfectly. Also there is a new distributor for the kit manufacturer based in Utah. I talked to them a bit too. They seem to be better equipped to handle demand. A google search for the manufacturers name and kit and utah should bring it up. The kit is double the price it used to be though.

Re: ********.com
Thanks for this thread. I too, received my kit a few days ago, with one hitch. There was no DVD or instructions whatsoever. I'm fairly mechnically inclined and have installed the cylinder saddle, but need help with the rest. Did anyone get instructions? I noted the 6 min. install video was taken off youtube. If anyone could forward directions they go from ********.com after use, I'm happy to compensate you for your trouble. Thanks in advance for any assistance.
