DOT Seeks Input on 5-Year R&D Plan
This week, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) announced that it is
seeking public input as it develops its 2010-2015 Strategic Plan for Research,
Development and Technology Activities. DOT’s notice outlines five key priorities for
transportation: Safety, Livable Communities, State of Good Repair, Economic
Competitiveness, and Environmental Sustainability. DOT has requested that
comments address research activities associated with these priorities. Comments are
due by February 8, 2010. NGVAmerica plans to prepare comments addressing how
NGVs can help achieve the nation’s transportation priorities. We also will provide
input on specific research programs that are necessary to accelerate the use of NGVs.
