Recently natural gas vehicles received additional funding from the federal government. The House of Representatives voted highly in favor of a bill reauthorizing the Department of Energy's natural gas automotive research program. The bill passed with a vote of 393 in favor and only 35 against. The passing of the bill provides an additional funding of $150 million over the course of the next 5 years into research of natural gas vehicles.

Re: CNG Coverage from Electric Car Web Site
We need a strategy to address the cities where we need fueling sites. A few in CA I could list are: Needles, Blythe (or Quartzite, AZ), Redding, Bishop and/or Mammoth (HWY395). Include stations in Yuma and Flagstaff AZ and we could get out of CA on the major interstates.BLUE 09 GX

Re: CNG Coverage from Electric Car Web Site
Add Eureka and/or Salem, OR to the list...
Old news, but I'm still waiting on the I-5 corridor:
And then there's the coastal towns:
CA: Eureka and Crescent City
OR: Coos Bay, Newport, Astoria
That'd help the tourist industry.
Maybe more fueling stations should be our burning platform for a next get together (i.e., planning objectives for a future caravan to Sacramento)?Last edited by eloo; 08-16-2009, 12:37 AM.White '09 GX
