A bill currently being debated in Washington would provide considerable motivation for the use of natural gas as a fuel for motor vehicles.
House Bill 1835 was introduced April 1 by Reps. Dan Boren, D-Okla., John Larson, D-Conn., and John Sullivan, R-Okla. They claim the bill is driven by the need for America to quickly reduce its dependence on foreign oil while reducing greenhouse gases and urban pollution. To achieve those goals, the bill's objective is to accelerate the production and use of more vehicles fueled by natural gas.
