In California you get a sticker for $36 from the state. You can also claim any road tax spent using public pumps.
On the Federal side this is nothing set up to allow you to pay them so you don't pay any.
P.S. If you do a lot of miles you can save money buy getting the sticker even if you only use public pumps. This allows you to get back all of the state road taxes you pay.John

But if you don't have a home refueling station and you keep good records you can get back more than the $36 on your taxes. I do about 24K per year so I think it would more than pay for it's self. Then if you don't keep the records you be out the $36. Then it's a lot of work to save maybe $20 or so.John
