    Re: taxes

In California you get a sticker for $36 from the state. You can also claim any road tax spent using public pumps.

On the Federal side this is nothing set up to allow you to pay them so you don't pay any.

P.S. If you do a lot of miles you can save money buy getting the sticker even if you only use public pumps. This allows you to get back all of the state road taxes you pay.

Could you please give more information on how to get the sticker in California and on how to get road tax money back?

      Thanks,

        Re: taxes

I found that one via either a google search or a search of the ca.gov I'm not sure which. The AQMD should also be able to tell you who to contact.

          Re: taxes

You realize that if you file for the sticker, you are probably going to be the only one in Ca to do so. If you really want to do it... I have all the information and contacts. You don't need to Google anything.

            Re: taxes

But if you don't have a home refueling station and you keep good records you can get back more than the $36 on your taxes. I do about 24K per year so I think it would more than pay for it's self. Then if you don't keep the records you be out the $36. Then it's a lot of work to save maybe $20 or so.

OK, here's some light reading to get you started. If you think that daling with the state board of equalization is worth it to save a few bucks let me know and I'll give you the rest of it.
