Tank Certification 3 questions

Who do I go to get my tank certified?
How often should they be certified?
If they are rated at 3600 psi but the fueling nozzle is for 3000 can I get the nozzle changed?

Just a couple of questions.
Where are you located geographically.
What are you driving that would have a 3000 fill nozzle and a 3600 psi tank?
Knowing these things can help me answer the questions.

I live in Long Beach. I cannot tell if the tank is 3000 or 3600 because I cannot see any marking. I assume that a 1994 Dodge Plymouth used 3000 psi.
I guess I could just go to a station and see if the 3600 nozzle fits.

It is a 3600 psi vehical. This is stamped into the nozzel. It is also on the lables on the tanks. There should be s sticker on the inside of the fuel door. All 94 dodge CNG's are 3600.

While the nozzle fit test is a good indicator, it's not always a valid indication. I've seen a number of 3000psi nozzles swapped out to allow 3600 psi filling... but it's a starting place.

Check fuel filler door there should be a label indicating the system pressures and the tank expiration dates.* The label could also be under the hood.If you can hook up you will know, just for fun pull a shield and read the label on the tanks.* This is extremely important.* You say that the vehicle is a 1994, Dodge used comdyne tanks, you need to check the tanks for a cylinder inspection label.* From the age of the vehicle you state, the tanks are near their expiration dates.* The last two cylinders that blew were both comdynes -- PLEASE CHECK THE CYLINDERS to verify their conditions.* If they have been taken care of they are probably OK.The CSA America Web site www.csa-america.org has a list of inspectors.* There are plenty of them in your area.Larrycng

Must be inspected and certified every 3 years or 36,000 miles which ever comes first.
I will be able to certify that tank after tomorrow 8/22/08 and my name will be added to CSA's website list

You guys got the new test. It is a lot different than the past two tests and more difficult. Congradulations.

There is suppose to be a class in St. George Utah comming up.

Yes that is what I hear Larry, mabe I am counting my chickens before the egss hatch. But so far I have passed all my classes regarding CNG training.
So I am assuming I will pass the CNG Fuel System inspector test. Yes that is the new name! Since we must not ONLY inspect the cylinder but the whole high pressure system.
They say there are 4-5 different tests just like DMV. So you never know which one you will get?

The CNG Fuel System Inspector Certification program will replace the CNG Cylinder Inspector Certification. The new program will offer inspectors the highest level of certification to include the inspection of containers, valves, PRDs (including vent system) and other fuel system components of compressed natural gas powered vehicles. This improved, expanded program will follow the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 17024 standard for personnel certification programs.

Don't forget that the tank must be inspected following an accident (of any kind) or a fire as well.

Here we go, I took the CSA test and won't hear back for about 2-3 weeks. But I am now trained to do inspections, so I am going out to buy the tools next week.
So far I have been trained and hold certification of completion in the following areas and have them listed on our website :

CNG Fueling Station Operation & Maintenance
NGV Driver and Mechanic Safety
NGV Onboard Fuel Storage Cylinder Inspection Safety

Next class I am taking is the CNG kit installation/conversion. I want to be trained on installing dedicated and bifuel kits.
