    Dear Curt:

I was so pleased to find this website learning that others are exploring the Honda Civic GX/NGV.
I very much hope that the U.S. Government will educate and encourage the American people about this alternative fuel vehicle, which I believe, is a sure solution to not only our dependency on foreign oil, but to better protect of our environment.

I was very disappointed to learn that navigation is not available on the GX, but that it will accommodate an external navigation unit.

I was told that Honda/Japan will bring to American in Sept./Oct. two new hybrids, smaller and less expensive than the Civic Hybrid.

Would you post information about the 2009 GX/NGV and the new hybrids when that info. is available.

I have been leasing a 2006 Honda Accord Hybrid and am seriously considering the 2009 GX/NGV.

    Many thanks.

Welcome, Susan. Glad you're enjoying the information and learning about NGV's. This forum is dedicated to cng only and it would be inappropriate to do a blog on the new hybrids coming out next year. There are ton's of hybrid forums that will give them great coverage. For my $.02 worth, I'll stick with my ngv. Too many incentives exist for natural gas vehicles these days (see incentives forum) and I hate to buy gasoline for my lawnmower, much less a car anymore. So you might see me selling these new hybrids, but you won't see me playing them up in this forum... sorry. I hope you get the information you need here, if not... post a question and we'll jump right in with the answer.

First off, welcome to the forum. Second, you will find all the information you could want on nearly all CNG vehicles here on this site. Thrid, don't blame the government for not promoting CNG vehicles, they do what they can, in the form of numerous incentives for them. It is not the role of government to advertise for a private automaker. If Honda had a problem selling the GX, they would be advertising. They are not, because they have absolutely no problem selling every GX that comes off the line (usually, long before said vehicle even exists).

Don't be too worried about the stripped down nature of the GX, anything can be added. I really like the setup Gurwitz has:

And I don't know if they had to special order it from the factory or what but I parked next to a GX at Lowes the other day that looked like it was the EX-L package. The leather seats made me sooo jealous. I'm hoping that with how well they are selling Honda will start giving some other trim options in the future.
