  • Fueling Problems

Hey Guys! I just got mine today from Scott Robinson Honda! Black GX is sweeeeeeet! Anyway, I wanted to top off today after going about 100 miles and tried to refuel. I had about half-a-tank (according to to the dots), but when I tried to fill up, it told me I was at 100% and didn't charge me anything! Do I have to wait until I'm about to run out to refuel?? Am I doing something wrong? I tried this at Clean Energy Carson and a station in Norwalk, and it would not let me fill up....Suggestions?

If the station pressure is lower than your tank pressure, this will happen. You should also try the 3000 dispensers but the same thing will probably happen.

Well I ended up trying both 3600 and 3000 and neither worked. I'm afraid that I will run out before I can refuel...

Back one step. Since you've never done this before, let's make sure you know how the nozzle works. You have to turn the lever 1/4 turn one way, put the nozzle all the way on the receptacle, then move the lever 1/2 turn the other way until it locks. You should hear a small rush of gas. Then you turn the pump on and it dispenses more gas.

Or, maybe go to the LAX station where there's always someone there and ask them to help you.

            Re: Fueling Problems

Any Honda GX sales rep should make sure the customer knows how to fuel the car. I know Curtis , with a cng station at his dealer will make sure his customer knows.

I'm thinking a 'good' honda employee would only teach the customer how to hook up to a Phill... much like Fuelmaker only wants to support Honda's...

Do you expect them to have 'one of each' type of nozzle and pump setup? There are several fueling setups and each has its quirks. Curtis is fortunate to have one on-site but I don't know of any other dealer that does. I don't remember which one he has but I don't think it's the same as the Clean Energy setups.

Check this out: My fuel gauge keeps blinking/flashing non-stop. I looked in the manual to see what this meant. It says that if will flash if the fuel door is not closed, but my fuel door is closed! It just starting doing this out of the blue yesterday! Then, evertime to air conditioner is on, it intermittently shuts off. The fans keeps going, but the air immediately stop being cold and becomes warm and moist. Is this normal? I've only had the car for a week and all this??

The sensor/switch on your fuel door is probably loose or mis-aligned. If you cannot easily fix it, I'd take it back to the dealer.
As for the A/C, there is a thread on here discussing this, the A/C will stop during hard acceleration. I'd have the dealer look at it if that's not the case.

                        denault99,

The fuel gauge on my '08 GX ocassionally blinks off and on as well. I have found that the blinking will stop if I close the fuel door and then press in on the left (hinged) side of the door from the outside. Give it a try next time this happens . . .

Guys, this is a minor issue I've seen many times since the '07 model came out. It is a warranty issue, however many dealers don't seem to have a ready fix. If your service writer is stumped, have him call Allan at my service Dept. Using the number that's under my pic.
