I am buying a Dodge 15 passenger van with a range of roughly 300 miles. Is it remotely possible to make it from MD to UT?

Re: Maryland to Utah?
I tried the planner because I was curious and bored, and the direct route thru Iowa and Nebraska there is an 899 mile stretch with no fuel. Going thru Kansas you would have 2 230+ mile sections to get there and then 486 miles from Topeka to Denver. I dont think it would be wise to try driving it.
Great job on the trip planner Todd!BLUE 09 GX

Re: Maryland to Utah?
You need to determine whether the 46 gge tank will get you over the long stretch. Remember, however, that you will not get a complete fill at all stations. If the pressure is down a bit, you will not get up to the 3600 psi that the tank allows. Also, fast filling heats the gas and does not allow as much to be put in the tank. You will reach the pressure that the pump can push, but your tank(s) will not have 46 gge in them. cngprices.com lists the phone numbers of the stations so you can call ahead to make certain the station is still operational and how much pressure is available at the pump. You can get more gas in your tank after a fast fill if you allow your tank to cool for a hour or so. On a 46 gge tank, you should be able to put a few more gge in after a couple of hours. It will take a lot of planning and faith to do it. Let us know what you decide and what success you have.
