Extended trip bottle and rescue fill question

Has anyone ever made a portable or fixed "rescue" bottle. Say about 5 or so
gge that you could take to a car that is out of gas? It would have to have
a union type fill device that would hook two fill nozzels together so you could both fill and decant the gas, or is there a check valve that would prevent that? Or is it possible to decant gas from a filled tank to an empty tank?
Say you had two GX's, one empty one full could you piece a legal hose together to share cng or are you prevented by a check valve.

Also does anyone ever bank their gas in high pressure bottles?
I am just in the beginning stages of planning a setup for fueling a 2009 gx.
I have several months to get my fuelmaker and plumb it up for use.
I would like to have about 3 large 5' tall bank bottles filled to the point where i could help someone in the community making an extended trip through my area.

Is there a network of people who can privately help each other? We have to
do something to overcome the lack of infrastructure.

Side note on 09 GX. No new ones in stock in Oklahoma. My order was #20 with Joe Marina Honda and they will begin recieving shipments they think in late september or october. I almost think at current prices I could buy 2 more and just sell them at a profit when they arrive due to the back order situation.

I saw someone filling a 50 GGE tank in a trailer the other day. They told me the 50 GGE tank in the trailer would equalize to the tank in the vechicle to fill from the tank in the trailer.

Running out of fuel out on the butterfly farm are we?
I have a van I rigged for emergency fueling in Tucson. I put two 12GGE Type 4 tanks inside, permanently mounted and vented with a fill hose attached.
Adds 360 miles to my normal 200 mile range or gives me over 12GGE of emergency fueling. Safe vehicle to vehicle fueling is tricky.

First your vehicle (the full one) should have two check valves, one in the fill recepticle(usuallly the center) and another one before the first tee or tank connection. First you would have to plumb a bypass valve around the second check valve.

Second, you need to have a special de-fueling nozzle that pushed in the center of the recepticle to allow the gas to come out.
Third, you need to ground both vehicles together and to ground to eliminate the static generated by high pressure gas moving through the hose.

And last but not least, this is only legal if fill tanks are permanently mounted and connected to a vehicle that runs cng either dedicated or bi-fuel.

A trailer with tanks must have DOT cylinders (not NGV2 tanks)and meet DOT safety regs for transporting pressurized cylinders and you may need to have a CDL licence with a HazMat endorsement depending on the volume you are carrying.

Sounds like a piece of cake, doesn't it.

I build and install 40GGE Type 3 extended range/emergency fueling tank packs with fill hoses for full size pickup trucks if your interested. But they're not cheap, around $4k and they eat up your whole bed. Great fleet service vehicles and have an over 800 mile range on the highway.

I also charge current tow truck service rates, plus mileage, plus the fuel and have driven up to 170 miles round trip for some very happy and relieved people.

Other part of your question about banking gas in bottles, are you talking about a cascade fast-fill system for your Fuelmaker?
If so, your openning another can of works. Fuelmakers are treated the same as a water heater or furnace in your home, they're an appliance as far as permits and inspections are concerned. Once you add storage and a dispenser/fill post the Fuelmaker becomes a compressor, and your system becomes a fueling station and is subject to those codes. Like all wiring must be in NEMA 7 boxes and explosion-proof conduit and fittings for starters.
Not fun!
