  • Lost Ford Contour CNG Gas Cap

Hi, I got distracted calling in the problem with the Orem Sinclair CNG station last night and drove away without my Ford Contour CNG gas cap. In the morning I discovered it was missing and went back to the station but it was gone. If you've seen it or have it, please send me an email or personal message. I hear that they're over $100!

    Thank you!
    Devin

if you can't find it just use saran wrap and a rubber band to protect the fill nozzle $100 is crazy for anything like that

I have a Cavalier and I use McMaster Carr part number 9753K82 at www.mcmaster.com

This is a 3/4" OD vinyl cap. I got the ones that are 1" in height, but I cut the lower 1/2" off. It works great. You can get a pack of 100 for about $7.

        Thanks for the suggestions.

Yea, I've been using a 3/4" PVC end cap with a little duct tape on the inside to make it fit snugly, but the old cap sure did look better.

Are you certain it was not lost in Arizona (this is just too weird)?

My contour did not come with a cap. I cut off the bottom of a plastic water container I bought at wal-mart and spray painted it black it fits in perfectly and has not fallen out while driving. It is good for a cheap fix and does not look to bad.
