It depends on the vehicle and your abilities to work on it and understand what is required to change the filter(s). Some are easier then others, however, all involve working with intermediate or high pressure CNG which, if you do not have the knowledge to deal with it, could damage the vehicle or the person working on it. If you are not sure, you might want to watch someone who is qualified do the change and then you can make a decision as to weather it is something you want to tackle.

It involves relieving the pressure, some parts of which every CNG driver should know. On the GX, you close the tank manual shut-off valve and let the engine run until it dies. Then you can replace the filter(s) safely. One type is housed in a spin-on oil filter enclosure. Hard to get to but fairly easy if you have the right tools. Others are filter elements -- you open a housing and it drops out. Also fairly easy. Pick up a shop manual for complete instructions.

Be sure to turn off the tank valve as well. In the Civic this it is turned off along with the vehicle when you turn the key off.
