I am wondering what type of vehicle do I have to buy that will have an EPA certified conversion kit so that I can get the federal tax credit. I have heard that they have to have the same vehicle platform (ie engine and evap system) I think most of them are GM or Ford, just wondering the years, make, and models that qualify and the conversion companies that make them. Thanks for the help

The federal tax credit is for CNG "Dedicated" vehicles only. These vehicles must be purchased brand new from a dealer. The credit is based on the vehicle weight.
The Utah state tax credit is as follows:
OEM vehicle (Honda Civic GX, Chevy Cavalier, Ford Contour, etc.) 50% of the incremental cost of the CNG option up to $3,000
Conversion vehicle (any vehicle that has an aftermarket conversion) 50% of the cost of the conversion up to $2500 (These conversions do not have to be EPA certified)Jared.
Mountain Green, Utah
2003 CNG Cavalier
2003 CNG Silverado 2500HD
