Utah officials pushing alternative fuel vehicles

SANDY, Utah (AP) -- Several state and local officials plan to show their support for alternative fuel vehicles.
Utah Lt. Gov. Greg Bell and Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker are among those who plan to declare November as Alternative Fuel Vehicle Awareness Month at the Utah Women's Expo in Sandy on Friday.
Becker's personal vehicle runs on clean biodiesel.
Bell says switching from a conventional gasoline-powered vehicle to an alternative fuel vehicle that runs on domestically produced compressed natural gas can improve fuel efficiency, reduce dependency on foreign oil and help the state's air quality.
