  • Springville UT Flying J CNG pumps down

I have been calling all CNG stations from SLC to LV in preparation for my first CNG trip. The lady that answered the phone at the Flying J in Springville UT said that some work was being done on the pumps and something blew up. She said that they expect to be back online Monday 4/27/09.

You can always fill in Orem just a few miles north of Springville. The pressure might not be too good if you go during the day, but if it's a weekend trip or you're leaving early it should have good pressure. Even better are the Alpine School District pumps in Lindon, just another couple of miles north of Orem. You do need a Utah Fueling Card for that though.

The trick through central Utah is to make sure you schedule your trip so that you go through Fillmore (or preferably Richfield) between about 6am and 10pm. Those stations aren't 24 hours and if you get a poor fill in Orem or Springville (heading south) or Cedar City (heading north) you might not have enough fuel to make the 200 miles from Cedar City to Springville. Good luck.
