Any CNG mechanics in Utah County?

A Plan to put Thousands of Safe CNG Vehicles on Utah's roads

Anticipating the need for trained CNG Technicians, approximately 120 CNG Technicians in the state of Utah were Trained and Certified as CNG System Inspectors and installers in 2008. There are now more Certified CNG Inspectors and installers in the State of Utah than any other State. These technicians have the repair facilities, experience and training necessary to carry out the CNG Inspections for both Safety and Emissions.

Do any of these 120 trained CNG Technicians have a shop to work on CNG vehicles in Utah County? I have an ongoing need for CNG repairs on OEM vehicles (Cavaliers, Crown Vics, Civics, etc.). I also get a lot of questions from people who are having problems with their CNG vehicles that they bought in New York and found out that the CNG wasn't working when the car arrived. I'd like to find a reliable local mechanic that I feel comfortable referring people to.

The 120 trained was a one week class and they are now certified tank inspectors, look for a shop that has had experience on working with natural gas. Call Utah Clean Cities they can point you in the right directions.

Lancer, here are some of our qualifications:
Our (CCATS) Governing Board has in excess of 250 combined years of automotive experience. There are members on the Governing Board who have been doing safety and emission testing for the state of Utah since the inception of these programs. All voting members are certified or qualified in testing and repair of CNG systems, ASE certified A1, A6, A8 (many Master), F1 and are certified NAFTC and CSA Inspectors for High Pressure Cylinder systems. Not questing any one qualification, just saying a one week course does not give much experience in natural gas and a customer should check around I feel the Utah Clean Cities is a good reference of shops in your ares. We have CSA certifies tank inspectors, ASE Techs including F1, and have been repairing CNG fleets for UTA and Flower Patch for over 10 years. We are also certified to install FuelTek and Transeco CNG conversions.
