To all you CNG buyers from Utah looking claim your clean fuel vehicle tax credit. Don't settle on buying a CNG vehicle for a ridiculous amount of money. You don't want the seller (usually from another state) stealing your tax credit by selling you a vehicle for more than what it is worth. You can always check the value of the vehicle on edmunds.com. Edmunds will allow you to check the box for the CNG option on the Cavalier (2002 or newer) and the F-150 (2000 or newer). If we are patient on this, the sellers will have to lower their prices.

Re: Don't give your tax credit to the seller
I paid 9,500.00 plus tax title & license for my 01 f150 std cab long bed in 2wd with 51k on the clock, and it's in near perfect condition, they were asking 11,300.00. Every truck here in SLC for sale was by a dealer so I thats where I bought, I found none for sale by owner in UT. I didn't know about edmonds.com, but It shows I paid about 1,000.-1,500. to much. I tried to find a local auction for UT state fleet viecheles but had no luck. I'm sure the dealer made a good profit, but there in business to make money and I can respect that, I made the best deal I could on the truck I wanted at the time01 F150 dedicated, std cab, long bed, 2wd, 4spd auto w/ 5.4 Triton.

Re: Don't give your tax credit to the seller
I have an ongoing list of CNG vehicles posted for sale (with prices). The list has hundreds of vehicles and is a great resource to see if the vehicle you're viewing is listed at a reasonable price. I created it while I was looking for my own Ford Contour, but the list includes about every make and model produced.
My blog describing the list:
