  • Copper Hills 66 Down

I visited the Copper Hills 66 at 11:00 AM and both nozzles have red bags over them.

I filled up yesterday evening, around 6 pm, 3300 psi.

Some of the employees are finally learning how to properly swipe the GasCard there. I'm still waiting to see if I'm going to be "double dinged" since they are charging 3% extra for their credit card costs and the GasCard adds 3% to purchases. When I get my bill I'll post what happens. Anyone have any experience with this yet?

Please excuse my ignorance, but where is the "Copper Hills" station? I know of no Utah city with that name. Maybe that is a street name?

This is the first I heard of a public station taking the GasCard... How does that work? What is the way to "properly swipe" it in case I get an employee who doesn't know how? Where else can you use GasCard besides at the school district/state pumps?

I was surprised myself, I only asked because I wanted to maintain my mileage record. There are two ways it can be swiped. The first couple of times the employee did it like any other credit card and then I used the debit card PIN pad to enter the driver number and mileage. I thought it was weird though that my receipt always said I bought that dollar amount of propane.

Monday the girl had me swipe my card on a separate card reader on the side of the counter that the registers aren't on, if that makes sense. I received two receipts that time indicating I had purchased a certain amount of CNG rather than a dollar amount. That actually made me feel like I was going to get the proper price.

My fear was that w/ the station charging 3% extra at the pump and the state charging 3% on the bill that I was going to be charged over 90 cents a gallon. (I know, what's a few cents when we pay so little? But I'm a true Utah cheapskate and only want to pay what I'm supposed to.)

Anywho, apparently the card is part of the Fuelman network which is accepted all over the country. I've attached a spreadsheet I got from their site of the UT stations that accept the card. Their search engine doesn't find any CNG stations in UT so I had to run a complete list. Just pull up the list and look for your favorite public station to see if it's listed.

The state's Gascard site has some info as well including a list of car wash locations that will accept the card. I'm going to try some of these out and see how it shows up on my bill.

BTW, this is why the card is accepted in Vegas, the Ronemus station is on the network.
