I lost mine a few months ago. I believe the OEM is over $100 so I just use a 1/2" PVC end cap with one strip of duct tape on the inside to make it fit snugly. Works like a charm.
I also drive a ford contour and lost my fuel cap at the 500 south station in Bountiful, UT on July 12. Does anyone know where I can order an OEM fuel cap?
I also lost my cap this week. Ford charges $26 each cap when I called. (part#2C2Z-9C112-AA)
I should have some factory originals coming in about 3 weeks. (Bought it bulk with a min. order of 26 caps, I have extras!!) Private message me if you are interested in buying one so I can contact you when they arrive. I will be selling them for about $8 + $2 shipping. You can find them on my ebay auction when I get them in, or send an email direct. Will take paypal either way.
I really didn't like the posted caps already on ebay. They look cheap and whats up with the blue color? Going with the original that came with the nozzle.
I'm glad to help everyone save a little over the dealer!
I expected these caps friday 8/8. I inquired and got this email reply: "These will be shipping out Wednesday." So probably in a week and a half I will see them!! Argh! They were backordered from France they tell me.
Anybody who wants one send me a private message. I prefer to mail them out and get paid via paypal. I would send you a paypal invoice where you could pay me from that. I will have them listed on ebay sometime soon I hope, however I will have to increase the price on ebay by $1 to make up the fees they charge
Cost direct with a private message is still $8 each cap + $2 shipping (for up to 3 caps)
