Re: North Temple Tesoro Update
Can anyone tell me what they actually did to the North Temple station? Have they done anything to ensure reasonable pressure? I've filled there on many different occasions, and never gotten a reasonable fill. In fact once I filled there at 7 a.m. on a saturday (could there be a better time?) and nobody was there, the compressor wasn't running, and I STILL got a lousy 2100 psi fill. Has anyone ever seen this station above 3000? Is there any reason I should expect things to be different now?

Re: North Temple Tesoro Update
Well I gave it a try and stopped there today. Looked like it would be good, not very busy, compressor not running. So I pulled up and... it's just the same. The pressure was at 2000 PSI and the compressor wasn't even running. My Cavalier was completely out of CNG, and I could only get 2.6 gallons as opposed to my usual 4.7-5.5 gallon fill in that situation. A guy filled up a ford contour across from me, and although his pressure gauge said 2000 psi as well, he got 5.5 gallons. Seems like a lot to me, but I don't know what a standard tank on a contour is, or if he had extra tanks.
I wonder if there is just something wrong with the hose I used? I used the hose on the west side of the pump, the other guy used the east pump. anybody know if one is better than the other?
As for me I'll probably continue to bypass that station (even if it is only a few blocks from my house and right on my commute) because the pressure has been lousy on every single attempt I've made there. I already have to fill up very often, and if I do at that station, I do it twice as often.

Re: North Temple Tesoro Update
Well, I gave it another try on Saturday, and to my suprise I got a very very good fill. Pressure was right at 3300 psi, and I almost tied for my best fill ever. I did use the wastern-most pump this time, and a fellow in a contour filled on the eastern pump at the same time, and looked like he only got about 2-1/2 gallons.... I'm beginning to think the eastern pump is the problem. I'll have to test my theory in the comming weeks. But I am pleased to say that after one year of occasional tries, I can finally proclaim a good fill at the North Temple tesoro station.

Re: North Temple Tesoro Update
I've filled there the last couple of weeks and have got 3300 psi using either pump. In fact out of the pumps I've tried, Layton, Murray, Airport, Questar and the Tesoro, the Tesoro pump has been the best. The Murray pump has been the worst lately, only 2200 PSI with the compressor constantly running.
I mostly fill at the airport since it's close to work, but I may start using the Tesoro since it's close to the airport and I can get that little bit extra to get me through the weekends without having to refill before returning to work.
Tesoro will even give you the "Free Fillin" stamps after refueling. 8 stamps and you get 1.50 in gas. You're supposed to get 8 gallons to get a stamp, but the lady working the counter asked me I wanted a card after putting 3 gallons in and gave me 2 stamps to get started. 16 stamps gets you 3.00 credit which is like a free fill up for the GX!Last edited by Blueflame; 05-18-2008, 11:17 AM.
