  • Station Update

Questar is in the process of extensive maintainance, updates and repairs. Brigham,Ogden and St George have been completed. All of the other stations will be going through this maintanance in the next 2 weeks. Sandy will still be down untill new equipment arrives and North Temple Redwood Tesoro will be down for approximately 2 Weeks. As all of you know there has been significant increase in usage and when any station is down it puts additional load on the others. Murray has not shut off except for repairs since Sandy went down and has not been able to maintain good pressure. Vehicles that are downtown Salt Lake and going south would be advised to use the 200 S and 1150 W whenever possible, and for those going north to use Bountiful/Woods Cross. A larger compressor and more storage was added to JP's in Clearfield and seems to be better able to keep up with the load. With the exception of Sunday and Monday when Ogden was down. There is additional equipment being purchased to replace and increase the size of more of the stations, as quickly as possible.

    old man,

We, the CNG community here in Utah are forever greatful for Questar and their continued interest in CNG for vehicles.

With the increase in demand for natural gas at public fueling stations, I can only imagine how busy your work schedule has become. Do you think that Questar would offer some kind of incentive to install a vehicle refueling appliance (VRA) at home?

I have considered having a VRA, but the fact that the price of natural gas is cheaper at the pump than out of the house makes it a no brainer to just fill at the station. Having a VRA would definitely reduce the demand on Questar's filling stations.

I too would be interested if there were more help to offset the cost.

Staying in the HOV lane and always a full tank in the morning makes it a no brainer for me to fill at home

                John,

I can see how for some people it would be a no brainer to fill at home. Some people don't live close to a filling station (I think the one closest to you is in Orem). However, for me, I have one just to the north of me (Ogden), one just to the south of me (Clearfield) and one where I work (Brigham City). And there is no HOV lane in Weber and Box Elder counties. I am just trying to think of some ways to decrease demand at the filling stations, because we all know that the demand for CNG is going to increase as gasoline fuel prices continue to raise.

Old Man, thanks for all your hard work along with Questar. We all appreciate it. I would be another one interested in additional incentives for an at home refueling device as well.

                    Many thanks old man.

Questar is saving me a lot on gasoline. I was able to buy a 3rd car with the money I saved - so now I don't have to share with my teenage sons. They can pay for the expensive gas.
