  • What's with the stations?

Does anyone know what is going on with all the stations? I went down to Lehi and back today, on the way back I stopped in Murray and the pressure read 3300, as soon as I started filling it dropped to 1200 psi and wouldn't fill. So I tried the Questar station on 2nd south in salt lake and it did the same thing. I called Questar (remember i'm right next to their building) and they said they'd send someone out. I then tried the clearfield cheveron station and it only filled to 2400. Then I called Brigham in hopes they had the pumps fixed. WOO they said it was fixed and running great! So i made it there and guess what? Yup, your right, they did the exact same thing as the ones in Murray and Salt Lake. I called Questar once again and told them what was going on. So I made it back up here to Logan and thank goodness this station was working.

Does anyone have a clue as to what's going on!?
You can do anything except light a paper match, on a marshmellow, underwater!

The Point of Sale (POS) system usually needs to open a valve to allow refueling. In unmanned stations, you must run your credit card and specify pump number to authorize. In manned stations, you may need to have the pump authorized by the cashier.

It will take a few seconds for the pump to start after the fill valve is turned from "vent" to "fill". If your vehicle's tank pressure is higher than the refueling system pressure, if you have not properly connected the fill nozzle, or if there is a blockage in your filler nozzle, no fuel will be transfered to your vehicle.

I have refueled at all stations you mentioned in your post without any issues within the past few days. I am amazed at how well Questar maintains the stations, especially as the demand for CNG in Utah has grown exponentially.

Please describe in more detail the circumstances of your refueling issues and the community might be able to provide assistance.

I know that your supposed to enter your information before hand at the unmanned. And yes I waited for the pumps to start and nothing happened. And in Brigham I went in and talked to the cashier first just like Logan to have them authorize it. But it didn't work. So i don't know if it just wasn't my day or what.

I filled up twice in Brigham today without issue. Last at 10 PM for 13+ gallons. Pressure was 3800 psi. Best wishes figuring out what was going on with your fill-ups.

The same thing happened to me in Orem. It was the hose on the west side. I switched to the hose on the east side and it worked fine. I usually fuel up in Springville. They normally have better pressure, but their CNG cost more.

Not sure why, but the Springville pumps are 63.9/gge and the Orem pumps are 63.8/gge. I am certain I have wasted at least ten cents by fueling in Springville.

I have also had lots of problems at Murray (yesterday 04/14 I got 6 cents worth of gas). I've had problems with the Tesoro on North Temple and Redwood. I used the Sandy station exclusively until they had their problem. It's kind of frustrating.

I fill up either in the morning about 7:15 or in the evening at 5:30. Maybe it's the time of day.

I've had good luck at the Sinclair in Orem but have run into people who are there because Springville's isn't working.

Is the gas always this unreliable ? I've had my car for 2 months and it appears to be getting pretty bad.
