  • Utah state-issued GASCARD works in Vegas!!!!

    Edited to add:
The information in this thread is outdated. All Las Vegas stations take Visa/Mastercard. As with stations in California you must watch a short training video before refueling. After the video you are provided with a two digit code associated with your credit card so as to skip the video when refueling in the future.

    Thread locked.

I was passing thru Vegas yesterday, pulled up to my favorite station at Ronemus Dr. and instead of using my Haycock GASCARD I thought I would try using my new Utah-issued GASCARD and it worked!

For those of you not familiar with the Utah state issued cards, they are required to use the publicly-owned stations at Utah school districts, universities, etc.

Sounds great, how long does it normally take for them to get a card out after the request?

I scanned in my forms and emailed them to Kathryn on July 17th. Got my card on August 1st. I figure 2 weeks with a state holiday in between isn't too shabby. It just felt like forever while I was waiting for it.

          Question:
If your vehicle is not EPA "approved" or the conversion kit used on the vehicle is not certified, can one get the GASCARD and still fuel up at the public owned stations?

            Maybe only works at Ronemus

OK, so I am passing thru again today, tried the Utah GASCARD at the Losee station (by the way it is back up again after renovation... watch those massive speed bumps Civic owners!!!) and Washington & A St. stations... both of them did not recoginze the card. Ended up using my Haycock card at Washington/A. Will hopefully try Henderson on my way back and then again to Ronemus to verify if this is the only station that works

HMMM, sounds strange... I picked up a CNG-only Crown Vic in Vegas on Weds. afternoon Aug. 20 and after wandering around some of the nasty construction and weirdness of Vegas I finally found the Losee station on a low fuel light ( last gasp of CNG) and it thankfully accepted my Utah gascard. BTW, can a person actually get into the Ronemus station in the middle of the night? I actually used it twice without a problem that night in an attempt to top off the vehicle. Pressure seemed low, but it got me to St. George.

If the Utah GasCard works in Vegas, will the Haycock Vegas card work in Utah?

                  Ronemus is fine

Worked again yesterday for me at Ronemus. By the way the pressure at this station rocks Seems to be heat-adjusted as in the 105F mid-day it dispensed around 3900 psi.

Thanks for the updates John, I am planning on going from SLC to Vegas and back this weekend. Do you know if the pumps on 3333 Losee road has a heat-adjusted pump. I am stopping on Mesquite for a couple days and they don't have pumps their.

                      David,

The CNG fueling stations in Vegas are run by Clean Energy now. See the following link:

I believe that you can use MasterCard/Visa at all of them.

                        David,

As Highmarker said, this thread was started a long time ago before Clean Energy took over the stations and installed Visa/MC readers.

3333 Losee is a reliable station, just off I-15 north of McDonalds at the Cheyenne exit. You might get a better fill at the Washington & A street station, however. It is also close to the freeway but there has been a lot of construction in the area -- hopefully it is not an issue any more (have not been in Vegas for a few months). Mesquite has no natural gas service pipeline so there is no hope of a station going in there any time soon.
