  • Victorville stations and city yards

Has anyone filled up at the Victorville stations? I went to Big Bear going the back route via Bear Valley Rd (less winding roads) to take the family out for a little skiing and wondered how nice it would be to take the GX up there instead or our gas guzzling Volvo. Plus it'd be kind of cool to let people know that GX's can make it up there as a recreational vehicle. Are the stations reliable and are they accesible to the public? looks like their run by the City of Victorville.

Looking at the stations available thru the 60, 10 and 15 FWY's it seems that their all run by their respective cities (Pomona, Ontario and Corona). I haven't had much experience filling up city yards, mostly Socal Gas and CE stations in Orange County.

    Thanks,
    Al

I have filled there as well as some of my friends. No major issues (at least with the D street station). Once one of the hoses was down. But as you know, there are two stations in Victorville with 24 hr access. The D Street station had a sign with a map showing you how to find the other one should there be problems. There is also Barstow, 30 mi out of the way, but another option too.

      Victorville stations

I have never been to the Victorville area stations. Could anyone tell me which one is the easiest to find (accurate location in the guidebook) good fill, easy access from the I15, etc.?

      Thanks

The D street station is easy to find. Once you get there finding the pumps is a little challenging however (as I recall you head in to the railroad track embankment and then go to the right -- not left as the CNGVC directory indicates). Some have reported bad fills but my experience has been positive.

If you are heading north, Barstow is very easy to find, with in my opinion even better freeway access since the 58 freeway connects so well with the I-15 and then you get right off at the first exit. Barstow has always provided excellent pressure for me, albeit at a higher price. The card swipe code there is 13 if you do not already have a PIN

I am going to combine this with the other Victorville thread.

Thanks, That's the kind of information that caan really be helpful. I have had quite a bit of trouble at times trying to locate exactly where the statiions are located. AS noted in the POI thread the book just doesn't come close enough at times.

The only problems I've had here relate to the card reader/system. It's finicky sometimes, especially with debit cards. I like to have two visas or mastercards available, in case one doesn't work, as those are the only credit cards accepted. And make sure you already have your ID number for the cards. Yesterday I had to do the credit-for-cash swap with a bus driver to help him get back to Riverside, because the video training module was down.

The station is at the west end of the train station parking lot, but in the back of the lot, near the RR track, and the compressor enclosure blocks view of the pumps from street. Not hard to find once you're in the parking lot though.

This is probably a good plan I hadn't really considered. I guess I did not realize the PIN is related to the specific card but it makes sense. I don't fill very often where they have those stupid videos. Once My PIN wouldn't work and of course the video was down. I called the number on the pump for help, hoping they could give me the PIN or authorize the pump since it was their system down and their only suggestion was to go to another station. Yea, thanks a lot......
