  • OC NGV owners post here.

    I'll start this.

I live in Tustin and normally fill up at the Santa Ana station just off the 55 fwy. Normally I get very complete fills except when the darn garbage truck get there before I do

fast fill can be that way.....Takes about 20 min. for our Norwalk compressor to re-satisfy our vessels for complete refills in Covina.

I'm in the Garden Grove area pretty close to the CE Seal Beach station(405 and Seal Beach Blvd exit), I've been getting my fills there since buying our GX and I'ive been getting a 100% fill lately. I just tried the Socal Gas station today on Industrial Ave, the NGV directory states that it's on Monarch but it's not. The price was at $2.03 unlike CE at $2.45, that was a pleasant surprise

Unfortunately I didn't get a 100% fill today, hopefully it'll be better next time. But I'm still a happy camper with the new found savings

Yeah I hate running into a shool bus or garbage trucks that are ahead of me in line to fill up, I just leave and come back another time

        Hey all,

I'm Jim, I live in Corona, work in Anaheim,

I used to fill up off of Kraemer and La Jolla in Placentia or Corona, now I Phill up at home.

While I am unhappy with Fuelmaker for all the inconviences and expense they make for us do-it-yourselvers, I do love my Phill.

See you in the carpool lane!

          well,
On Tuesday I tried placentia. Closed. Then I tried Anaheim. Closed. Had to go to Santa ana. thank god it was open... almost took 7 gallons.

I live in Corona, so I usually fill up at home or at the riverside yard. Either 1.95 or 1.73, so I hate paying 2.45 in the oc... sometimes I get like a gallon to get me home.

then I add up my time and does the $2 I save make it worthwhile?

Of course cause i'm stickin to the man just that much harder...

I am new to this site, but have been driving CNG for 5 years. Since CE came onto the scene, they are more expensive, but they have newer equipment that usually works. SoCal Gas has good locations, but their compressors are not maintained as well, nor can they handle the capacity that they get due to their lower prices. I regularly use Garden Grove Gas Co., Seal Beach CE, Long Beach CE, and Downey Gas Co.

              hey there,

I live in newport beach and commute up to the south bay. i generally fill up at "the stinker" in fountain valley or in long beach. i really hate ce for taking over the long beach station and jacking up the prices. I used to get good fills there for about $1 less, but now the pumps are often broken and the fuel is expensive.

are there any other options off the 405 that aren't CE? anywhere to fuel up for less $??

If you don't mind taking a little detour you could fill up at the Socal Gas on Indusrty St. in Garden Grove. If you going North on the 405 exit on Goldenwest/Knott and head North, then right on Lampson, a block away is Industry St., make a right and drive down about 100 yards and it on left side of the street you can't miss it. Current price is $2.13

You can always check cngprices.com (it's linked on the top left of the page if you ever forget) to find the stations that are along your route along with prices for all of them.

Looking at the map, the garden grove station is your best bet. There's nothing else I see along the 405 that has decent prices.

The status of the PLACENTIA station is available at the city's website www.placentia.org There is a link on the lower left side for the CNG station. It gives the status of the station and current price. I too have driven there with very little fuel to find it closed. now i check ahead of time.

Seal Beach is my favorite because of time to fill and time to get back on the fwy. I heard from AFT that Fountain Valley has the best pressure of all.

I've been using the Trillium station. They've had a few issues but all in all it's been good. Best of all is the price.

I live in San Clemente and work at USC. Most fills are Irvine and Long Beach, but I also use Anaheim Trillium and the Garden Grove CE.. Where I fill mostly relates to the route of the day. Friday afternoon I fill up at Irvine so I can maximize my around town CNG driving. I sure wish I had a station south of the CE in Irvine, but the next station south is Carlsbad. I can’t imagine at some point that something won’t come our way. Saddleback Unified School district has 100s of diesel busses waiting to be converted, and I heard something about them exploring a CNG station. Sigh!! I’m so damn happy to own my 07 GX

Hi everyone. Just took delivery of my 08 GX about two weeks ago. I've been filling up at Anaheim and Irvine. Definitely happy to own my GX, but not happy with the way CE prices it in Irvine.
