  • Downey; Firestone Blvd. Station

    Fill valve sticking problem
Three times I've filled at this station, I didn't get a complete fill and my fill nozzle leaked for the rest of the day. Another person filling up on the 3000 PSI nozzle also left the station with a leaky fill nozzle. The problem seems move prevalent in the early hours.

Sounds like high moisture in the gas.

I just filled there today the 12th and I didn't seem to experience any problems, although I didn't get a complete fill, I attribute that to the outside temparature...

that station never fills up, I went there at least 10 times, always around 3000~3100 PSI fill on a 3600 psi pump.... if it's not the cheap price, I would never stop by there

To my knowledge that is the first public station. It has been a couple of years since I have been there but if it still the same equipment all you will ever see there is 3000 psi.

The Downey station got a new enclosed compressor skid and added a second storage sphere about 18 mo. ago. The new compressor was pretty bad for the first few months , finally got the bugs worked out. A lot of street sweepers fill up , and the extra storage was needed for the large volume. (The old "Thumper" compressor would often trip it's overlaods on a hot day).

I have never had a freeze up at the Downey station. Only had it once in Long Beach.

Dickson sweeper put in the "California Clean Fuels" station on woodruff about 2 miles away. The last 2 times at the woodruff station, the nozzles seemed to have a lot of oil residue.
