I sent my forms in about 2 weeks ago, and just had my training on Thursday. Not sure when my cards will arrive.
Mike - The trainer from PGE told me that they are planning on opening many more stations in the Bay Area over the next year. Possible sites: Vallejo, and several along 101 North of San Francisco.
Los Banos station at PG&E service center in town is supposed to be open now. I have not yet confirmed.
Concord station upgraded one of its lines to 3600 psi recently.
Hopefully they will expand to the north on I-5 also - like at an area near PG&E's Cottonwood substation which is fairly close to the freeway - or more likey a service center where they would have a few NGVs in their fleet - . That would extend cruising range greatly (Chico works but is is a little off the path ...)
I don't know what you mean by up north, because your location isn't listed. But, if your talking about the bay area. The only places that I have found that you don't need a PG+E card are at all bay area airports, Santa Clara Recycling (4400psi, but a little more expensive. 2.52 currently.), and the Union City Station. Those are the only stations that I have been to that are not PG+E and will take credit/debit cards.

Confirmed: Los Banos is open. I live in Los Banos, and verified it was open before buying my GX Saturday
Does anyone have an alternate phone number for the PG&E alternative-fuel department. I received a phone message to call back for an appointment, but I haven't been able to get in touch with a human to make one. My application has been approved, but I don't have a card.
After filling out a customer-complaint form at a PG&E center, I was contacted by a trainer who provided the training and mailed me a card within a week. If anyone needs this person's contact info, send me a PM>
Hi, all. Sorry if these are stupid questions for a non-local, but I want to make sure I know the score. To confirm: once I cross a border into CA and I'm on the northern end, I can only refuel with this card? So if I'm visiting Sacramento, I'd need to apply for the card far in advance (and even then, still attend training)? Does the Sacramento airport offer fuel without the card, like the Bay Area airports?
Have you looked at the cngprices.com website? You'll get most of the information you need there. Looks like the airport requires applying for an account. With PG&E, if you can show that you already had training or are already refueling a cng vehicle, you won't need theri training.
Sacramento appears to be not-CNG friendly. It looks like the only stations that don't require an access card are Pinnacle in Rancho Cordova and Yolo County Transport in Woodland. PG&E stations are in Davis and on Florin-Perkins Road. If you're going to be near the airport, your best bet is Woodland, if you haven't set up an account with anyone. If you need help with the PG&E app., contact me. I had a difficult time getting the card, and the 800 number and email address are useless.
