  • Phill system installation and cost

    Hello all,

We picked up our Honda GX earlier this week. So far we love it.

We are trying to decide on whether to lease or purchase the Phill system for our home. The installer came out yesterday to perform the pre-installation survey.

Any thoughts on a breakeven analysis on these units? Has anyone done the math?

    thanks

It will cost you more to own and use a Phill than buying gas at the local station. If you get started now, you will have the Phill installed at about the time you get tired of going to the station every time your tank is below 1/2 and finding that sometimes it isn't working and you can't drive where you want when you want.

It looks like I have no other choice but to use PHIL if I want to fuel at home. I am "hearing" that Los Angeles County code stipulates that in order to install a FM4 or FM2 or FMQ2-36 outside there must be 10 feet to the property line. Is this right . . . 10 feet from the outside of my garage to my neighbor's property line? Please comment if you live in LA County and have an FM unit. If this is true, then I am stuck with a PHIL. Is leaseing a PHIL less expensive than buying one?

Check with Fuelmaker to see if the SCAQMD still has the $2000 'discount' program (they pay $2000 directly to Fuelmaker and your cost is reduced by $2000).
