  • cng ford service for AZ? Or Help

Are there any ford dealers in AZ that service CNG? Or maybe someone could give some advice... My truck on nat gas only spudders and puts on take offs from stops. It acts like it is out of gas. my mpg on ng has also decreased. only 66000 miles. it is a ford f150 with the 5.4

I can tell you that Berge in Mesa DOESN'T even after your "service advisor" makes the appointment and you drop off your F-150 bi-fuel...

Anyway here's the thread with some info: http://www.cngchat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27

and I've personally also gone to: http://www.altfuelsys.net/

Berge Ford will usually sublet it out to Darrel at ALT Fuel Systems for repair.

Thanks guys for the help. Apparantly Berge does not do any CNG service at all. They gave the tools to Five Star Ford in Scottsdale. I found this out only after I made a appt. with David at Berge. David was wrong!

Many of the f150’s problems can be diagnosed by a technician with a little training on what to look for. For example, the weak point for the bi-fuel set up in question are the O-rings that seal the adapter cup to the CNG fuel rail. This failure causes a vacuum leak which results in a misfire most noticeable when running on CNG. This can be tested with a “smoke machine” which is use most often to find EVAP leaks. Using this tool, a tech can find out if this is the primary cause, or a contributing, cause to your problem.

I went to afvtech with our '97 Crown Vic. The guy charged $120 and fixed the problem. Another company charged $400, didn't fix the problem and didn't even replace the part that they said it was giving the problem.
