  • Question on ONG CNG prices.

I once heard or read that ONG only changes the price of CNG once per year on November 1st or around that time. Will the price be changing at the same time this year or because the price was adjusted a couple of months ago will there not be a price change in the next few weeks?

    Thanks,
    Sean

It has been changed twice since july. From .91 to 1.14 and recently to 1.26. I'm not sure why the price has went up ~ 33% when natural gas has dropped in price ~ 50% in the same time frame.

my only guess would be that they need to get some extra revenue to fix or replace the pumps that are seeing the most use. or maybe to upgrade them. or maybe to get us ready for CE to take over. lol

Only one station in Oklahoma City went to the higher price.

Something about the lease on the property went up so they had to go up.

The rest are still at $1.14.

That figures since it is the station I use most.
CNG prices should be going down.

Anyone know why the pump in Pauls Valley is now marked out of service and when it might be back up? It was working fine a week or so ago.

Re: Question on ONG CNG prices.

It is $1.17 per GGE at all the pumps here locally. I find it strange that the market price on Natural Gas is less, but the pump price is rising. I thought they regulate this at the corporation commission, what are they doing to us? The price should be lower not higher. Unleaded is $1.96 per gallon and dropping, but the CNG price is getting higher, which I know is going to get a lot of people to switch to CNG.

Re: Question on ONG CNG prices.

It was explained to me today that they hedge their prices for a given time frame(6 months or so). This makes perfect sense regarding their price compared to the current natural gas prices per mcfe. Back in the summer when natgas was in the 13-14 dollar per mcfe range, they had their price hedged from when the price wasn't that high. Then they hedged their price at the 13/14 range and now the price has dropped. There should be another price correction soon (1-2 months) and I was told it would be down into the 85 cent/gal range.

.85 cents per gge that would be great! Kuy, did you get your info from a pretty reliable source? I hope so.

Re: Question on ONG CNG prices.

Sure hope that sub $1 price for OK cng comes true!!

With recent oil at $40/bbl and natural gas at $5/Mcf there is LOTS of room for prices to still drop like a rock.

Also, how about OGE (Oklahoma Gas & Electric) which is owned by ONEOK to also price their Kansas pumps in Topeka and Overland Park at same sub $1 price, rather than price gouging $1.89 per gge !!???!! Where is public cng pump(s) for Wichita, KS while we're questioning ONEOK commitment to cng???

Re: Question on ONG CNG prices.

The price recently went up from $1.03 to $1.11.
Natural gas is at $3.55/therm now. It has been dropping the last six months.
The pump price should have gone down not up.
                      What is up with that?

They are not the only one. I just got my gas bill at home from Centerpoint Energy (southern Oklahoma gas supplier). It just took a 20 cent per hundred jump. I'm back to paying more per GGE than gasoline filling at home.

Re: Question on ONG CNG prices.

ONG has lowered the CNG price to $.75 per GGE. I only know about the Shawnee station for sure, but other oklahoma locations on cngprices.com also show the lower price.

Look at the CNG price map, looks like all the ONG pumps were changed to $.75. I thought $1.29 was cheap!
                              Thanks ONG!!!!
