      And so it begins ...

Demolition began on Friday (10/17) and they made significant progress over the weekend. The compressors and storage tanks are gone as is the fueling station.

If the pictures look strange, they are. They were taken with a cellphone.

Getting ready for the concrete pad.

So I was talking with one of the workers today at the job site, and get this .. I asked what they did with the CNG that was in the storage tanks before they dismantled it.

        They vented it!

Today's pictures are of the prep work where the concrete pad is going to go for the new compressors and storage tanks. I believe he said it was going to be a 30 x 60' pad. They are running behind a tad as they were expecting a shipment of pipe to put into the ground yesterday and it has not arrived yet.

When I worked on natural gas dehydrators 25 years ago I would vent more gas into the air than you could prob. use in your lifetime. Such a huge waste. Those dehys would send out a whistle you could hear for miles. Too bad I didn't have a way of capturing all that gas.

BTW,what corner is this new station at?

                Station Shelter going up

I cannot believe these guys even tried to put up some steel with the 25-30 knot sustained winds we had today. But they did and it was brr cold too on top of it all.

Ironworkers are a very tough bunch. Usually only stop for hail or lightinng . It may be a pleasnt day at ground level , but 30 floors up building a high rise , it's blowing and cold . Those guys are used to it.

                    Heavy lifting today

The big guns were pulled out today!

On the left of the picture you can see on a flat bed trailer is what I assume to be the storage tanks for the facility. There is three really big tanks joined together at the ends. I took this picture on my way to work, but on my out to TUL, I passed another flatbed loaded with what looks like the whole compressor housing. A very modular building concept.

                    I will have more tomorrow.

Branding applied to the rain shelter

I was going to try and get some pictures up close over the weekend, but I ended up staying home for the Oklahoma/Missouri game. This picture was taken today, 12/08.

At the base of the left canopy piller, you can see the white CNG storage tanks in the back ground.

Any idea of what they will charge? CNG is too close for comfort to gasolene prices now, even from ONG...
