Hello, I'm Mark Hollis of Norman. I'm starting to read up on CNG in preparation for buying a bi-fuel pickup. Anyone knowing of any good ones for sale please contact me at [email protected]. Thanks
I live in Pryor but work in Claremore. I am picking up my 2008 GX this afternoon. If anyone would like to check it out, feel free to email me at [email protected]. Has anyone checked the price at the pump in Claremore? Is it true that it dropped to 91ยข GGE?
Hi my name is Tom Sewell, I have been in the CNG business for 20 years in Tulsa. I know every one in this business so if you are looking for some one or some thing email me and I will help you find what you need. We do service CNG vehicles but I suggest you not buy a CNG vehilce that is not running on CNG when you pick it up. On older kit it is almost impossible to get parts. We will look at any vehicle and we will fix what we can but we can not preform a miracle on every car.
I just fell and broke my hip on Jan 1 so it has brought our service work to a slow crawl at best. We are not bringing in cars until the end of Feb. I should be back to work by then. look at my website www.tulsagastech.com
I own a 98 Honda GX and my daughter drives it to OSU, She fills at the station in Stillwater. This has been a perfect car with out even a single problem.
All together I own 5 CNG vehicles. I just can see ever going back to Gasoline.
I am the Fuelmaker dealer for Oklahoma, KS, Arkansas. If you need one worked on give us a call.
Hello Tom My name Is Brock Rodriguez do you have any information on why the claremore pump is only pressurizing to about 2000 psi on a 40 degree day. i have also heard rumors that that station is about to get taken out for land development is that true. also can you convert a F-150 96 with a 4.9L inline six to CNG?
P.S. Sorry about your hip. i heard about it from your receptionist at TGT she told me about that when i was asking about any used home fuelling units for sale. hope you get healed up and back on your feet in as little amount of time as possible.
Hello my name is Ricky Smith and I live in Tulsa. I currently own a 98 Silverado truck 4x4 that has been great. A few months ago I purchased a conversion kit for my truck off of ebay and now in the process of installing it. Assuming all goes well I will be very happy, but I know with any used product I will be running into difficulty to get it going.
My wife has a new Tahoe that we will soon be converting over to bi fuel to get rid of the high gas prices, and we will probably be adding a dedicated vehicle before its all said and done.
Since I last posted here I sold the converison kit for my truck and purchased a 99 c2500 bi-fuel with 53xxx miles for about 5k. It was in Kansas City and I purchased it on Ebay. The truck is great and it is unfortunate that people like us have to purchase used and sometimes wornout vehicles for full retail, however I am liking the good deal that I found. If you keep your eyes out, you will find one. Tom Sewell over at Tulsa Gas Technologies can do the maintenance if any you would have while using your vehicle. I can say one thing though, stick it to oil, I'll fill up with .91 gge cng.
Hi:
My name is John, I'm in the market to purchase or build a CNG vehicle. I drive 1500 -2000 miles per week and pay for my own fuel transporting nuclear medicine. Obviously GNG is very appealing to me. Just went to the GSA Auction in OKC yesterday but all the bi-fuel trucks brought full retail. Being one who likes to buy at wholesale I passed on spending 11-13K on a 7 year old vehicle. Since I drive so much I am concerned with the maintenance involved with CNG and getting someone to perform it.
Hello fellow Okies. My name is Aaron Bedingfield. I own a 2002 Dodge B2500 dedicated CNG van. My wife and I were blessed by Ed Burdell and his wife Judy, as they sold it to us when the Owasso fuel station was torn out for J.C. Penny's new department store. We have have been running this vehicle since Nov 2007. As Tom mentioned earlier, we also cannot see going back to traditional gasoline or diesel fueled vehicles. My wife and I are in the process of swapping all our vehicles for CNG. We absolutely love 'em!
Recently I had an opportunity to talk with Tom and Charley Sewell at TGT about the AF Tax Credit legislation that is currently stalled at the capital. If you are not actively phoning your US Representative and Congressman, as well as your State Senator and Representative, you should be.
As I read this forum, I sense that most of us are the "working guys" that make this country run. Let us not keep silent on matters that affect us and our economic legacy to our children, because we think we can't make a difference. I challenge you; as Tom and Charley challenged me...,Make a difference! Make a phone call. Write a letter. If you want someone to proofread your letter before you send it, ask someone you trust. But DO WHAT YOU CAN, WITH WHAT YOU HAVE, WHERE YOU ARE!
Thanks Tom and Charley for taking the time out of your busy schedules to inform me.
Hi folks... I'm Ken Howe. I am converting an 03 Avalanche Z71 with a 13GGE tank, regulators and electronics out of a 97 Chevy 2500. I got the stuff from smirch9... Thanks Ricky!
I just drove by the 15 & Sheridan station: 3300 psi at aprox. 11:30 PM. It looks like working 2nd shift out here at the airport is going to pay off. I'm getting excited... I need to finish my Avalanche conversion soon... almost done. Ken
Nice to have ya aboard! I just filled up lastnight around 10 or so. It was 3300psi then. It does not payoff to fill during the day beause it gets used so much, but if you can get to it in the evenings or overnight thats best!
I haven't taken photos yet, but I will soon be posting a 2000 Ford F150 bi-fuel single cab with the 7700 heavy duty payload package (same as an F250 - 3/4 ton). It only has about 46,000 miles and runs awesome. I've had no problems with it. I bought it late last year as a 2nd vehicle but it turns out that I don't need to drive a truck that often, so I think I'll just sell it and rent whenever I need one. I'm asking $11,500 for the truck. It's not real pretty (just needs some paint touch up), but it's very straight and runs like a dream on both CNG and gasoline. It has the rubber floors (no carpet) and a vinyl bench seat. If you're looking for a good no frills work truck, this is it. My two cents on looking for used CNG: Don't count on using non-CNG wholesale and retail prices as a guide for what a CNG dedicated or bifuel is worth. The CNG conversion (including the tank), whether factory or aftermarket, is worth alot of money. With gasoline in OK hovering around $3.50 per gallon, that conversion is worth more and more each day. If anyone in the local Tulsa area wants to take a look at the truck, just let me know at mikesabbey at cox.net (replace "at" with @ - just trying to prevent some spam). Take care everyone! Let's make CNG king in Oklahoma. We're on our way.
P.S. I drive a 2007 Honda Civic GX as my main vehicle.
Hi folks... I'm Ken Howe. I am converting an 03 Avalanche Z71 with a 13GGE tank, reg........................................
............................ I need to finish my Avalanche conversion soon... almost done. Ken
UPDATE: Ok, I am dropping the: "Low" pressure regulator for a "negative" pressure reg... It just wont get past idle. I suspect the Fuel Metering Valve or the computer, but I don't have the capacity to test them. (They may be on ebay soon.) I picked up a "Neg" press reg from TGT along with an ECO, FMS. I know nothing about this stuff, but the guys at TGT have enough hardware and know-how, I may be out of the woods soon.... I hope
Finally getting around to joining this site, although I've been checking in occassionally since the beginning of this year. We live in Tulsa, and purchased our first bi-fuel Contour from Morris Auto about 3 years ago. Last year we added a dedicated Crown Vic from a guy in IL. We still don't own a home fill station, but maybe at the end of this year we'll purchase one (and then quickly file out taxes in February so we can claim the tax benefits)! Dedicated is tough for us due to the limited range (we don't have extended tanks on the Crown Vic), so we'll probably sell it this summer. In the meantime, we're thinking about getting a bi-fuel Explorer. Maybe a bi-fuel Expedition - thought we had agreed to a sale on one this weekend only to find out the seller decided to let a later contact buy it when they said they'd give him more than his asking price and would pick it up the next day. Oh well! I'll fly anywhere to bring a vehicle back to Tulsa as long as the price is good. Our CNG vehicles have really saved us a ton of money, and we're happy to own them!
TOM (TGT) - I noticed you guys are now listed on the DOE website as having a public fill station...Is that really happening? I work about 3 miles down the road and would LOVE to be able to fill over at your place!!!!!
