  • CE to build first site in OK @ Will Rogers Airport

    Hi folks,

I wanted to let you know we inked our first deal in OK. We will be building a brand new fueling station at Will Rogers Airport in OKC. For the okies in the group, you may recall several years ago there was a CNG site at the airport which was eventually shut down. We will be taking over the site, wiping it clean and building a brand new site. We will likely have the site up in 1Q2009.

Yes, the fuel price will be higher than ONG, no big suprises there. But it will also be one of the most powerful sites in the state. It will be public access with Visa / MC compatability. Our anchor fleet tenant will be the local shuttle operator, Airport Express.

We are also working with Chesapeake Energy to setup a fueling operation for their local fleet based out of their OKC campus, as well as several other fleet projects.

Paging Cngacrossusa, please commence your flogging.

Will Rogers already has a CNG station that I drive by every day on my way to work.

Is this the station you will be replacing/taking over? Currently the pump price is $1.14 and there is a tree growing inside the compressor fence!

Correct. Thats the one. It has been shut down for almost three years now. We will be removing the current equipment.

Unsure of the fate of the tree.

lol. I will take a picture of it for posterity and post it here.

Any ideal about what the pump price is going to be for the average joe?

            Jblue,
Keep an eye on this for us, would you? I'm thinking, if CE follows suit, prices will be low for about the first six months to get people used to the station (or to set the hook like a common drug dealer) then when they decide they need to start seeing a profit for the shareholders, no rush though since they'll probably be building this cash cow with grant money, it will be time for the fleecing. I'm sure the national CE avererage will be well over $3.00 gge by then. No worries though, you will still have ONG supplying cheaper fuel, that is until Pickens becomes the majority shareholder of ONEOK, then your really screwed.
Funny, I thought the first CE station in OK would have been build in Stillwater to supply OSU shuttles bringing people to and from T. Boone Pickens Stadium. I guess CE will wait till the old man is gone before they screw his alma mater.

Yes, we also serve puppies as the main course in our cafeteria and recently appointed Satan to our board.

Not really, but we are working with OSU, we have been for some time. Hope to have a station up in Stillwater in the near future.

ONG will be supplying cheaper fuel, and luckily (as you know) our model is based on anchor fleets commiting to use the station, so this will lead to new stations in the state and OSU will get a new station for their campus fleet and save a boatload on fuel.

Any chance of getting the CE pumps in CO to accept Visa / MC?

Isn't Mustang the town where you can watch first run movies for dirt cheap?

You might be thinking of the Palace Twin in Duncan, OK. Tuesdays are like $2.50 or something ...

                      Steve,
Why on earth would CE give up 2-3% to a processing company and cave in to customer demands. That would give people the mistaken impression than they are a service company and cared about customers other than the large fleets that have CE accounts.

So does CE have a double standard when it come to pricing?

ie: Fleets get a discount and the average consumer gets whatever.

                          Jblue,
Fleets and School Districts can be locked in at $1.99 plus tax and retail at the pump as of yesterday is $2.99
                          Answer your question?
BTW, my sympathies on having to fill in Mustang. Last month my partner had to fill there and the OKC south station to get enough of a fill to make it to Tulsa.

Its not really a double standard. They are different types of customers. A large fleet, that has 150 vehicles and uses thousands more fuel than a consumer can guarantee large commitment and therefore a discount. Volume discounting is not a double standard, it takes place in every industry in the world.

That commitment is what allows us to build a new station like this and then offer it to the public, so I think its okay for them to pay a bit less.
