Only EPA certified retrofits can refuel in Florida, says Jef Greene of Wise Gas Inc.

I talked with Jef Greene from Wise Gas Inc, on the phone. And as I understand it, Florida will only allow EPA certified autos to refill their tanks. It may take some time before you can convert your hot rod, jeep or bike to CNG in Florida. Funny these can be built by almost anyone and filled with gasoline without many questions about their safety. I believe in doing things legaly but it keeps only a few companies in favor in the state of Florida.
Unless you have a phill station in your garage and wish to refill overnight at home.

I've never found a place to fuel up in Florida--EPA certified or elsewise . If they would build CNG stations where I could be harrassed---I would use them !

Never been to Florida, but the US DOE shows 87 % of homes using elec. heating *, 6% using N.G. for heating and most of the N.G. consumption is used for electric generation. With a short and mild heating season , N. G. is prob. not even available in most areas. Looks like C.N.G. will not be available to most of FL. for the forseeable future.

As I have a home in Florida, I can say there is NG, you just need to look for it. All large cities and most larger towns have it. It just might be available in certain areas such as the commercial or industrial districts. Home refueling might be iffy, but there are plenty of areas to build commercial refueling stations---if anybody cared . I know Jeff is working hard to get something started there.

Soon....I thought permitting would be easier, I was wrong. Every time I turn around we are needing another drawing or another agency to approve.
This is not as simple as putting up a station and waiting on you to show up. This is real money being invested and the risk is that the return on that investment will not be sufficient.
If anyone wants to go out and do it differently, take your shot.
