I've always set my deductions so I pay as close to zero as I can every year.

I got a $3,469 refund due to the Alternative Motor Vehicle Credit for buying my '07.

Hi Can you please give a little bit more info. If my income is $26,000/year. And I don't owe any taxes at the end of year. Can I still get the tax credit. Or can you please how the process works from your exprience.

Everyone's tax situation is unique, please consult your tax professional as early as possible. If you aren't set up properly to take full advantage of the credit, it's early enough in the year to make some changes.

OK, so you don't owe taxes at the end of the year, but do you have a tax burden for which you have been making payments for along the way during the year? If the answer is yes, then the credit can help.
