The Buy Down/ Rebate is not taxible so there is nothing to report on your taxes. The CEC isn't issuing 1099's because it's not taxible. I just spoke with Mary to confirm this.

I received my $3000 rebate check today also. With the state of the California budget, I fully expected them to cancel the payments. Good for us. Hope others get theirs as well. I have heard that they are no longer taking applications for the rebate.

I lost my Tax Credit due to AMT. It is funny because I am not subject to paying AMT. However, the AMT calculation is carried out even if you are not required to pay AMT. That hypothetical value is used to determine your eligibility for Tax Credits.It was also interesting to notice that foreign Tax Credits and some others, which carry forward, superceede the alternative fuel vehicle tax credits that do not carry forward.

No money left. California is broke.
I didn't get a rebate and I bought my GX in Nov, 2008.
Maybe if the coffers refilled, we can still qualify?

In speaking with Peter Ward of the CEC today... there will be a RFP comming out in the next few weeks that may either revive, or create a new incentive program from AB 118 funds. If I recall, there was 2 mill set aside for incentive programs, primarily for cng cars. I'll keep you posted.

I purchased a brand new 2008 gx in March 2009, and inquired, via email to Mary Venables, if this was still being offered. She told me that there currently was no funding, but it could be replenished, and she suggested that I submit the paperwork anyways. No big deal, it would have just cost me a stamp and a few minutes, if the program did not get funded again. I received my $3000.00 check in June 2009!
