Use the forms below to claim either s single vehicle rebate or the last form to claim a fleet/multiple vehicles. Yeeeeeehhhhaaaaaaaa! It's ON!

    Thanks Curtis!

I mailed mine out tonight. They should be there by Tuesday as the address is local for me. How fast do you think the $1.8M will get eaten up?

Hope I make it in time.

It's impossible to say. It will depend largely on whether some of the large volumn buyers of the electrics and cng's (like cities and large corporations) file for their rebates. I seriously doubt it will last the life of the program and could theoretically run it's course in a few months. Personally I hope it lasts for a while to give those who need time to make their purchase an opportunity to benefit from it.

Sent mine in yesterday certified and return reciept with all the required documentation. Thought it was a bit over board with copies of your current utility bill, registration and sales contract? As long as I can get the rebate it's well worth it!

I just hope the rebate check won't take as long as the forms being posted...LOL

Up next...tax return, I hope I get something out of it as well.

The program is effectively now out of funds.

          This just in from Honda:
          Dear Honda Civic GX Team:

The statewide $3,000 incentive from the California Air Resources Board
(CARB) for the natural gas Civic GX is no longer available due to the
overwhelming response from Civic GX customers! Therefore, please do not
inform your customers of this discount nor use this discount in marketing
the vehicle. Also, if a customer refers to this discount (officially known
as the CARB Drive Clean "Fueling Alternatives" Alternative Fuel Vehicle
Rebate Program), please inform them that the rebates are no longer available
and that the funding allocated to the Civic GX under this program has all
          been utilized.

Please note that the nationwide $4,000 federal tax credit which is available
for eligible taxpayers who buy the Civic GX is still available. (Please see
          IRS Form 8910 at
http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f8910.pdf) Also, there are a number of
regional and local incentives that may be available for the Civic GX. I
have attached a spreadsheet of some of these incentives. Before marketing
these incentives to a customer, please contact the incentive representative
to make sure that discounts are still available, as most of these programs
          are first come-first served.

American Honda will continue to advocate for additional funding or continued
funding for all of the rebate programs for the Civic GX.

Thank you and best wishes to you on your continued sales success!

          All the best,
          Annabel

I spoke to Mary Venables today and she said that there's enough money left for about 50 rebates and that they would be used within 48 hrs worth of incoming mail.

If you hand deliver the COMPLETE package to her today (or tomorrow if she's there) you have a shot. Otherwise, probably not.

She also said that she has about 30 applications that are incomplete and unless the applicants get her the missing info... they are out of luck. Some of the applicants only sent in the application form with no supporting info, like a copy of their purchase contract and other items listed in the application paperwork.

I sincerely hope that none of our members are amongst those that were so excited that they failed to read the requirements section.

CARB and Honda are agressively seeking more funds, either from this source or others, with which they can re-fund the program. If the funds are from the same pool of money it is conceivable that they could resume with the applications that they were unable to get to this time around. If the funds are found from a different source it is possible that the new program would have different requirements, application process, etc. and your previous application would do you no good. You would simply start over.

I tried to let everyone know that this was going to be a very shortlived program and that taking weeks or months to look into "the numbers" (as I hear so frequently) would end up costing you more than you could hope to save by "crunching numbers".

I'll keep you all advised of any changes that occur in the programs status and keep my fingers crossed for you if you mailed out your app in the last day or so.

All this talk about incomplete applications, and being to excited about that the rebate that one might have overlooked the requirements, has me second guessing my actions... Did I or didn't I submit all that was needed!

            1.Application
            2.Utility bill
            3.Purchase agreement
            4.Registration

            I beleive that is it...right?

It sounds like you got it right... Did you sign the app?
Mary said that at the close of yesterdays business that roughly 70 people hadn't submitted a complete app and were being put aside. There is a possibility that some of them can get their paperwork right by Monday or Tuesday, but she doubts it.

She also said that because of those apps, if you bought a car today (3/7/08) and got the complete app in to her on Monday morning, although she couldn't promise... there was a really good chance that you could sneak in on the tail end of the money. I suspect that would work for today as well (3/8/08) as it's a weekend.

If anyone has caught this thread and realized they screwed up, you better get your act together and get Mary the necessary paperwork by Monday or you'll most likely lose out.

She said she should have enough apps on her desk by Mon-Tues to deplete the 270 slots they set aside for GX's. This is assuming that the mail brings her about 50 more apps between Monday-Tues.

Rest assured that there is a tremendous effort to get more money into this program by both Honda and CARB. If you were left outon this round... keep your fingers crossed and hold your breath as you may yet luck out... No promises though.

I really hope that my application made it through the process. I included all the materials but was unable to provide registration as my GX was only a few days old at the time. I sent in a photo copy of the temporary window sticker and hoped for the best. I am sure I was one of the first applications on her desk but that may not do me any good at the end.

I sure hope I don't loose my chance at $3K. Cross your fingers for me guys!

Is there a way of confirming the status of our applications? I feel pretty confident that I had everything they wanted, sent it priority mail w/ return reciept. But I haven't had it confirmed that they recieved my application.

                      c2sox,

Do you have your white post office receipt? The return receipt number is on the white receipt; its about 16 digits long. Go to the post office web site (usps.com) punch in that number in the tracking field and it will tell you if it has been delivered.

I sent mine return receipt, certified, and it was delivered two days later, but I haven't received the green return receipt. So, I printed out the confirmation from the usps web site.

I spoke to Mary this morning, very pleasant person by the way Anyway she confirmed my app and it is in good standing

She did confirm that she had a stack of incomplete forms, but from the sound of it incomplete forms can be updated/completed till the end of the week. She said that she doesn't see the rebate being available after this week. So if you have any doubts about your application or rebate availablity it'd be a good idea to confirm for yourself, just a warning though she has several hundred of the applications stacked up already so it may some time to wade thru all of them.

Hadn't thought of that, I've always checked for package tracking confirmation but didn't realize I could do that with return reciept confirmation as well...Thanks for the heads up!

I also mailed it, but regular first class mail on 3/5/08.
Today I got a confirmation that my application was received and no further data is needed from the plan's administrator. (after I sent her an e-mail).
Hope this does not trigger a mass-inquiry now.

Just now I got another e-mail for what to expect:
"You will receive a letter in the coming weeks followed by a check within 90 days of the letter.
Because so many people have been waiting for the program launch, I have over 200 applications to process. So please be patient, I will process the applications as quickly as possible."
