    Thanks for the heads up on the EM being gone. It increases my incentive to figure out the precise point of failure in my fm4.

    Next time you look in a fm4 would you take a look at the large contactor/relay that switches the current for the start capacitor. Mine is made by siemens and is labeled as having a 220 volt coil on it yet the way it is wired into the board it is only getting 110 volts. I am curious if the siemens contactor is standard equipment and if others also have a 220 volt coil.

    I assume when the capacitors fail it is standard practice to replace with generic capacitors from the electric motor repair shop? The Italian ones that come with the fm4 sure have nice cannisters with snug fitting lids covering the terminals but I have never seen ones like that for sale locally.
