  • Dead FM4

I have a Fuelmaker FM4 and need the main control board for it. It was an older style board with the vertical 15 amp fuseholders installed. One of the fuseholders decided to become a "thermal event" which burned up that area of the board . I would like to buy a used, servicable board or would buy a new board if that is the only option. I have the old board for exchange if that is required.

I am in the process of obtaining someone, other than Fuel Maker, who can repair FM4 boards.

My FMQ2-36 had a fuseholder go south (overheated, slight burn on the board and a fragged fuseholder). There was enough damage to the board that replacing with board mounted fuseholders was not an option. In my case the board layout was simple enough to just bypass/replace the poor quality board mounted fuseholders with inline fuseholders (probably AWG 10 stranded copper wire).

If you're handy with a soldering iron, your model has room above the board for alternate style fuseholders (and poor quality OEM fuseholders are your only issue), you might want to opt for this repair instead of a replacement. good luck!
